PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY: In support of strengthening student academic achievement, each school that receives Title I, Part A funds must develop jointly with, agree on with, and distribute to, parents of participating children a written parental involvement policy that contains information required by section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (parent involvement policy). SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT: The Marshall Independent School District and the parents of the students participating in activities, services and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (participating children) agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the state's high standards. GRADING POLICY: This policy has been developed in accordance to Marshall Independent School District policy by Sam Houston administration and teacher collaboration. Click Here to access a copy of the Sam Houston Elementary Grading Policy.

CAMPUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN: Each school year the principal of each campus, with the assistance of the Campus Advisory Council, must develop, review and revise the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP). The purpose of this plan is to improve student performance on the state’s student achievement indicators for all student populations, as well as improve performance on any other performance measures for special needs populations. SCHOOL HOURS: Start time is 7:50 a.m. Monday-Friday at Sam Houston Elementary. Dismissal will be at 3:21 p.m. unless it is an Early Release Day. Early dismissal on designated Early Release days will be at 12:20 p.m.
